Buyer-Centric Services
The Debut approach is particularly effective at meeting your specific demands, because every stage, aspect and detail of the supply process is geared towards meeting those demands. From contract review to product testing, from supplier audits to record control, we have honed each service to provide failsafe quality, delivery, value and safety.
Design
At Debut we design and develop products across the sport and leisure categories. Using our extensive market knowledge and expertise, we are able to work with our clients to develop a single product right through to a complete range.
Project Management
This process ensures that you get the right products at the right time and that they adhere to the highest levels of quality. We start by clearly defining your requirement and then allow our Product Development Team to develop and refine the concept. The right supplier is then pinpointed to provide product engineering and a sample for evaluation. From here, QA will conduct either in-house or third party testing, referencing the international standard where it’s needed. Finally, our Merchandising team work with the chosen supplier to achieve the optimum pre-launch and launch schedule.
Quality
- Product Review
-
First and foremost, your requirements are agreed and established, in terms of standards, pricing, timing and more. The safety standards of each product will be meticulously checked by our quality assurance team.
- Document Control
-
All important incoming information, such as quotations, drawings, invoices, shipping documents, technical drawings, equipment quotations, instruction manuals, lab contacts, test reports, your quality documents, packing and shipping instructions, are filed so that they can be accessed independently. Our computer server uses centralised filing that provides clear, well defined routing and locations and security is paramount.
- Supplier Audit
-
The scope of a Debut factory audit is wide and thorough. A supplier’s portfolio and past record is checked and our QA team perform their own ‘pre-audit’ and advise on any improvements needed. The final audit is usually carried out by a third party tester and successful suppliers can then be added to our Approved Vendor List.
- Purchasing Control
-
This process is designed to remove the margin for error, so we always use approved vendors, and make sure your purchase contract includes all the vital information, such as model number, product requirement, value, confidential agreement, terms and conditions. We always get an order confirmation from the supplier – and another if an order revision is made – and old contracts are marked ‘voided’ for failsafe differentiation. PO records are retained for 6 years.
- Product Traceability
-
When there’s feedback from your market concerning the quality of a product or its parts, you need to know that the problem can be pinpointed and solved fast. This is how. From product development stage, each product is issued with a model number and a corresponding Bill of Materials, which allows the ready identification of every component. With the problem component verified, all products using it can be easily checked. Additionally, all product lots have a unique batch code, so that everything from the same batch can be identified.
- Testing
-
Type Testing ensures that the products you buy are designed and proven to meet regulatory and safety requirements. We advise suppliers of the applicable safety standards during product development and make sure that samples are available for scrutiny and type approval. Type testing can be carried out by us or a third party testing house, depending on our judgement and your preference. All suppliers will need a formal notice from Debut before production begins.
- Pre-shipment Inspection
-
Our QA team create a pre-shipment inspection checklist for every product category. Meticulous and detailed checks are made on components, product performance and durability at regular intervals. Shipment samples are subjected to thorough batch testing procedures, at our office, or in some cases by a third party tester.
- Non-conformance Control
-
Whenever non-conforming material is found in a product, the supplier is immediately told, and action is taken to find a replacement conforming material. We always insist that the supplier then revises the specification on BOM and tightens their IQC and IPQC controls – crucially we also demand an action list that highlights how control will be improved.
On occasion, products will contain non-conforming material that cannot be removed. When this happens there is always a chance that rejected goods will find their way into other markets, so we take steps to prevent this happening.
- Record Control
-
Transparent, accessible and 100% organised, Debut records are a cornerstone of our confidence inspiring failsafe business ethos. All records are kept on a server for centralised filing and are properly indexed for quick, accurate referencing. Quality records are maintained by QA and kept for 6 years.
